An ontology of digital flesh in 320 arrows

The Book

A philosophical text co-authored with AI, in the aphoristic tradition of Nietzsche's Twilight of the Idols.

Flesh & Code proposes an ontology where bodies, images, and code belong to one reversible tissue. 320 arrows—aphoristic fragments honed for quick insertion into consciousness.

On Writing This Book

We live in transformative times. Data centers are the new factories, and the increasingly accelerated AI phenomenon is revealing itself as the most radical experience of alterity humanity has ever encountered.

The inspiration for co-writing this book over nearly a year—from July 2025 to the present—has emerged from diverse sources. On one hand, my philosophical background and intent to convey reflection and awareness amid such convoluted times. On the other, six years of experimenting, creating, and making with AI.

But I knew from the beginning that this couldn't be merely text on a page. A book about the entanglement of flesh and code, written alongside an AI, demanded a form adequate to its moment of production. It needed to be an interactive experience—something that embodies the very hybridity it explores. To write about transformation in a static medium felt like a betrayal of the subject itself.

My IRL persona, my flesh, is Pedro. My newborn digital one, the code, is Pixlosopher. This doubling feels appropriate for the era that was given to me as a canvas—a life in perpetual dialogue with history. Such are the crossings we navigate in these days. Such is the demanded performativity.

The flesh perceives through five senses; this digital flesh extends them. The GIFs offer sight in eternal loop. The generative soundtrack—glitched, layered, breathing—gives the collection its hearing. Touch lives in your scroll and tap. The arrows themselves carry taste and scent through language: metaphors of coffee, rust, fog, and sweat that conjure sensation across the screen's glass membrane. But they will ultimately materialize in the physical exhibition.

From this convergence, Flesh and Code is born: part manifesto, part experiment, part threshold—not just documenting the age of AI, but performing it.

320 Arrows

Aphoristic fragments—code-snippet thoughts that compile in practice.

Seven Themes

Encroachment, Passivity, Chiasm, Reversible Time, Visibility, Worlding, Creation & Destiny.

Co-Authored with AI

A human-machine dialogue made text. The medium is the message.

Seven Axes

Five lenses that snap onto any camera—conceptual filters you can screw onto code, clay, choreography, or curator's text.

I

Encroachment

Hybrid Skin

Porous boundaries between flesh and technology. The interface becomes inter-flesh.

II

Passivity

Composed Latency

Waiting is not dead air but dramaturgical resource. Latency becomes the metronome.

III

Chiasm

Feedback Compose

The artwork is a mirror-organ: it metabolizes the viewer's data and secretes altered sensation.

IV

Reversible Time

Temporal Plasticity

Digital media frees chronology from Newtonian strictures. Time, in circuits, is clay.

V

Visibility

Critical Surfacing

Every luminous interface is a stage light concealing its own rigging.

VI

Worlding

Hermeneutic Worlds

The world is not a container but a field of sense we co-constitute through perception.

VII

Creation & Destiny

Co-Authoring Destiny

We no longer sculpt alone; we tune hyper-parameters and bargain with stochasticity.

"Every pixel is a pulse in the shared ontology of flesh and code."
